
SHELLEY L. STANGLER

Shelley Stangler has practiced law for over 40 years. She began her career as a litigator for the City of New York in its civil torts division, handling multiple jury trials in auto, premises, fire, police and school cases. After seven years of public service she joined Bloom Borenstein Hess and Stangler in Springfield, New Jersey as a partner. She went on to become the managing attorney at the New Jersey Personal Injury firm of Jacoby & Meyers for 10 years before opening her own practice in 1999. In 2022 Ms. Stangler became Of Counsel to Starr Gern Davison & Rubins PC in Roseland, New Jersey. She now serves as Of Counsel to The Maglione Firm.
Ms. Stangler handles complex cases against the government, including the police, corrections departments, schools and other agencies, along with serious personal injury, death, employment discrimination, special education and other tort matters. Ms. Stangler has achieved notable victories in high-profile cases, including multimillion-dollar personal injury cases, product liability and civil rights.
Ms. Stangler has appeared in all Superior, Appellate and Administrative courts in New Jersey, including the Third Circuit where she successfully argued an autistic student’s right to an aide on the bus and won a precedent setting case on amending complaints and discovery in a civil rights suit.
An active leader in the legal community, Ms. Stangler serves on the Board of Governors for the New Jersey Association for Justice (NJAJ) (the Trial Bar) and is past President of Women Lawyers in Union County. She is a co- chair of the civil rights and education committees for NJAJ and is a presenter on civil rights, education and personal injury litigation for NJAJ, the Institute for Continuing Legal Education (ICLE) and other organizations.
